Bio
Age 5 – Played “Silent Night”on an organ in
Woolworth’s (Andover) to the amazement of the gathering crowd
Age 8 – Parents bought me my first Bontempi
Organ with 4 sounds and 4 rhythms!! Wow!
Age 15 – Played my brother’s Spanish
Acoustic guitar every night and could not put it down (even though I didn’t
know what I was playing! Played by “ear”)
Age 16 – Got £100 insurance money and
decided to buy a motorbike instead of a guitar!
Age 17 – Bought my first electric guitar,
an Ibanez Blazer for £80.
Age 18 – Bought my first rock guitar, a
Charvel Model 5 from Denmark
Street in London (£530!)
Played first gig at Clanville Village Hall
with a band called “Testerossa” and we sucked!!!
Formed a writing
partnership with my long-term friend Andy Woods.
We formed Tightrope! We did one song for a charity in Bangladesh
Band evolved into the Unknown with Marcus,
Steve and Ollie. Gigged for a few years but the attitude of the singer forced
out the bass guitarist and I had enough of him and left.
Formed a Duo with Jayne Robinson and gigged
that for a few years.
Formed My Pet Chinchilla with Marcus! I
joined forces with Darren Chinny on drums and Nigel Nimmo on vocals. This was
the best original band I was ever in, always such fun to play live! Changed our
name to “Chinchilla” and recorded three cd’s but never got further than
gigging.
Did another stint with the Wild
Strawberries Duo (Jayne)
Joined a Gosport band called “Out Near Alice” with my “soon to be” close friend Craig Feltham.
Gigged across the south coast and the singer was his missus!
The band split up after the
singer/guitarist split up! My brother joined us on bass guitar and it became
the start of BIZR!
Started in a four-piece band called Sahara with Andy Hart (Teak
Needle), Rolf and Barry This did not last and became
Teak Needle with just me Andy..
My brother left as the bass player of Bizr
and was replaced by local lad Les Timmons. Stu Morley joined us on keyboards
and we have been gigging ever since!
Stu Morley also joins teak needle along
with Tim Huggins on Bass and the line-up is nearly complete.
Joined Mafia in September 2006 as their
guitarist decided to move to France
Tried various singers for Teak Needle but
have not found the right person yet, we still write songs but more of an
instrumental type these days.
Present Day – So my life now involves
gigging every week with Bizr/Mafia, teaching Guitar, Drums and vocals on
weeknights and doing recording each Wednesday evening with Teak Needle.
